The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) is an independent health regulatory body created by the National Health Amendment Act of 2013 to promote and protect the health and safety of users of health services in South Africa.
The OHSC is mandated to conduct inspections in both the public and private sector healthcare facilities as one of the mechanisms to determine whether healthcare facilities meet the required standards of care, that good practice and gaps are identified in the health system and areas for improvement are addressed across the country.
The OHSC together with the Office of the Health Ombud, Office of Military Ombud and Health Professions Council of South Africa will be embarking on a series of community outreach events to inform members of the community on the functions of these institutions in the following areas of Lephalale Local Municipality:
