The OHSC embarks on community outreach campaigns at Joe Morolong Local Municipality

The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) is a public entity charged, in terms of the National Health Amendment Act 2013, with improving the quality of healthcare by driving health establishments’ compliance with minimum norms and standards.

It is an independent health regulatory body created by the afore-mentioned Act of Parliament to promote and protect the health and safety of all users of health services in South Africa.

It does this by means of inspections, the exercise of enforcement powers, the certification of compliant establishments, and investigation of complaints about sub-standard care. The Health Ombud, who is accommodated within the OHSC, is responsible for the investigation of breaches of norms and standards by health establishments.

The OHSC will be embarking on a series of community outreach campaigns with the purpose to inform members of the community of its functions.
